Ed has been a docent, tour guide, and tour director for over 10 years. He currently provides tour guide services to American Tours International, Holland Cruises, Princess Cruises, Tastes of the City and many other operators. He also volunteers as docent at the Hyde Street Pier National Park and with SF CityGuides, a free service of the San Francisco Library providing historically accurate tours. Earlier, Ed worked as a Guide at the Mission Dolores, San Francisco’s oldest structure. Ed has served on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Tour Guide Guild since 2016, a professional and certification organization for tour guides and hospitality workers throughout Northern California. He is certified by the Red Cross for AED/First Aid.
A resident of the city of San Francisco for over 35 years, Ed was appointed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to its Pedestrian Safety Committee, and works during the season for The San Francisco Giants baseball team.
Ed had a long and successful career in technology marketing for US and international firms before stepping away. Originally from Boston, MA, he earned a BSE from Northeastern University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
His interests include ethnic foods, jazz, international travel, and terrible puns.
